The District Governor, of District 9110 Rotarian Ifeyinwa Ejezie and her entourage including Top club presidents visited the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital LASUTH to welcome and present the first baby of the year.

Speaking during the gifts presentation, District Governor Ejezie said: “Rotary is the biggest and largest NGO we have in the world. Our District which is 9110 covers Lagos and Ogun State.

“Our job is to do good in the world, touch lives and create hope where there is none, put smiles on the faces of the less privileged and rejoice with those that need to be rejoiced and that is why we are here.”

Explaining further, we have here is to welcome the new baby, and present these gifts as is our little way of showing love and creating happiness and hope in the world.”

“We know a new baby is born this year, the first baby for this year, so we have come to rejoice with the mother and also to welcome the new baby into this world.”

“January 1st is a beautiful time to be born. It is the first day of the year. This child is a lucky baby, a blessed baby. And we know that the baby will go places and one day, the baby will also join us and become a Rotarian

Appreciating the hospital management, Ejezie said: “Thank you for receiving us LASUTH. We are always happy to be here. We will be here again, we are always here. We have done a lot with the hospital and we will keep doing it, so long as you welcome us, we will always come back. As long as there is continuity and maintenance of what we give to the hospital, Rotary will always be very glad. It is our job to continue to create hope in the world.”

According to Dr. Richard Eddy, President Rotary Club of Mende Midtown, “We made 758000 gift items worth were donated to the newborn baby.

“The items were donated to the new baby as part of Rotary club’s commitment to touching lives positively. This is to support the mother of the newborn baby and the mother.”

“For Rotary Club of Mende Midtown, we are providing borehole services for a community in Ibadan.

We choose the community in Ibadan because we want to meet with water needs of the locals in the community.”

“We all know how important water is to life and healthy living.”

“Also in Rotary we don’t have any restrictions, we can do a project anywhere as far as it meets the needs of the people”, he added.

Some club presidents, that accompanied Rotarian Ifeyinwa Ejezie to LASUTH were: Rotary Club of Mende Midtown in conjunction with Rotary Club of Ikoyi Metro, Rotary Club of Gbagada, Rotary Club of Ikeja GRA, Rotary Club of Akute and Rotary club of Abeokuta Metro.
