The Lagos State Police Command has announced the commencement of physical and credential screening for candidates seeking enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables for the 2025/2026 recruitment.

The Command said the exercise is being conducted in partnership with the Police Service Commission.

Screening will take place from Monday, the 9th of March to Saturday, the 18th of April, 2026.

According to the police, the process will begin each day at 7:00 a.m. at the Police College in Ikeja, Lagos.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Thursday, the 5th of March, 2026, by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi.

The statement explained that the exercise is meant for applicants who are indigenes of Lagos State and who completed the online registration for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force under the General Duty and Specialist Constable categories.

Shortlisted candidates are required to appear for the screening in a plain white T-shirt and white shorts.

They are also expected to present several documents during the exercise.

These include the invitation slip bearing the assigned table number and the credential screening form.

Applicants must also provide the original National Identity Number printout or card issued by NIMC, their O’Level certificate such as GCE or SSCE, as well as a birth certificate or declaration of age and a certificate of Local Government or State of Origin.
For specialist applicants, trade test certificates will also be required.

Candidates are equally expected to submit a properly completed and signed guarantors’ form with attached photocopies and passport photographs of referees.
They must also present both original and duplicate copies of all credentials.

The documents should be arranged neatly in two separate white flat files with recent passport photographs attached.

The Command warned that applicants who fail to present the required documents will not be allowed to take part in the screening.

Candidates were also advised to strictly observe the dates assigned to them and comply with all instructions guiding the exercise.

“The Lagos State Police Command emphasises that the screening process is absolutely free and conducted strictly on merit, in line with the highest standards of professionalism and transparency,” the statement read.

The police also called on members of the public to report anyone requesting money or any form of inducement in relation to the recruitment process.

SP Abimbola Adebisi reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to conducting a smooth, transparent and credible screening exercise for qualified applicants.
