Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is fully prepared to retain power in the state in the 2027 general elections.

Abiodun spoke on Thursday at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, where thousands of APC members and supporters of Caucus 7202 gathered for a mega rally in support of the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

The rally attracted supporters from the 20 local government areas of the state and highlighted the party’s growing mobilisation ahead of the elections.

Addressing the gathering, Abiodun said the large turnout demonstrated the APC’s strength, unity and readiness for the 2027 polls.

He said his administration’s achievements over the past seven years had created a strong foundation for the party to seek another mandate from Ogun residents.

The governor also praised the peaceful conduct of the party’s activities and described Adeola’s emergence as the APC governorship candidate as an important development in the state’s political history.

Abiodun expressed confidence in Adeola’s ability to lead Ogun State, citing his experience and years of public service. He also urged party members to intensify their grassroots mobilisation and take the APC’s message to every ward and community.

The governor further reaffirmed Ogun State’s commitment to delivering two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

In his remarks, Adeola described Abiodun as a “silent achiever,” saying the governor’s seven years in office had produced significant achievements and laid a strong foundation for the state’s future.

The APC candidate promised to build on the achievements of the current administration if elected governor.

Adeola also dismissed reports of any working arrangement between him and opposition parties ahead of the election, urging APC members to remain vigilant and reject what he described as approaches from opposition groups.

He said the APC had the structures and organisation required to win the 2027 election and retain control of Ogun State.

Adeola commended Caucus 7202 and other support groups for backing his campaign, noting that more than 90 per cent of members of the group were not affiliated with any political party.

He described their support as an indication of confidence in the APC and its candidates and urged them to expand their mobilisation efforts across the state.

The Ogun APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, also urged party members to take the APC manifesto to the grassroots and educate voters on its policies, programmes and achievements.

Sanusi said sustained grassroots engagement, voter education and disciplined mobilisation would be crucial to the party’s success in 2027.

The Director-General of Caucus 7202, Moctar Koiki, said the group was an independent political support organisation established in Ogun State to mobilise support for the APC and its candidates.

Koiki disclosed that the group had about 180,000 members across the state, with over 90 per cent of them being non-partisan.

He said Caucus 7202 would mobilise support for President Tinubu, Abiodun’s senatorial ambition and Adeola’s governorship bid.

According to him, the group would deploy its structures across the 20 local government areas to mobilise voters and support the APC and its candidates in the 2027 elections.
