Google on Thursday announced the results of its 2022 Year in search showing Anikulapo, Oxlade, Buga, Queen Elizabeth, Casemiro and who is Peter Obi’s running mate? among the top searched topics, people and question by Nigerians in the year 2022.

Google’s 2022 Year in Search contains a compilation of people, topics, moments, events and places and high-profile deaths that stole the world’s attention each year.

Nigerian singer Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, known professionally as Oxlade, topped both categories of top trending people and top trending musicians searched by Nigerians this year.

Kunle Afolayan’s Anikulapo, Kizz Daniel’s ‘Buga’, AFCON, Casemiro and Will Smith also topped in their respective categories revealing Nigerians’ love for film, music, sport entertainment perosonalities and athletes.

Questions such as ‘Who is Peter Obi’s running mate?’, ‘Who is the APC Presidential candidate?’ and ‘Who is Atiku’s running mate?’ revealed the increased interest of Nigerians in politics and the elections happening next year.
