ine investment platform identified as “XM Future Music Group,” popularly known as “XM,” has reportedly collapsed, leaving many Nigerian users unable to access their funds amid renewed concerns over fraudulent digital investment schemes.

The platform allegedly promised subscribers returns of up to 100 per cent within 30 days through activities it described as music streaming and digital task engagements.

According to reports, promoters of the scheme claimed users could earn money by listening to music and completing simple online tasks.

Subscription plans reportedly ranged from ₦21,600 to as high as ₦93 million, with promises of huge financial returns. Advertisements linked to the platform also allegedly claimed that an investment of ₦21 million could yield returns of about ₦327 million within one month.

Users were further required to pay what was described as a “work deposit” after an initial trial phase before they could gain full access to the platform’s activities.

Concerns grew after many subscribers began reporting unsuccessful withdrawal attempts within the last 24 hours.

Several users also alleged that support groups associated with the platform had been deleted, while the website and communication channels reportedly became inaccessible — developments often linked to the collapse of suspected Ponzi-style operations.

To boost confidence among investors, promoters of the scheme had reportedly circulated documents claiming the company was registered in Colorado, United States.

Despite such claims, financial experts have consistently warned Nigerians against investing in online platforms promising unrealistic profits without proper regulation, transparency, or verifiable business operations.

The latest incident has once again raised concerns over the growing spread of unregulated digital investment schemes targeting Nigerians with promises of quick and extraordinary financial returns.
