="dropcap dropcap3">Premier League giants, Chelsea are prepared to splash a record 140 Million Euros to sign Victor Osimhen from Serie A champions Napoli, according to TeamTalk.

Chelsea have been linked with Osimhen, 25, after his exploits last season which helped the southern Italian club win the Scudetto after a long time. This season it is a lot less at Napoli.

The striker has since been crowned CAF Player of the Year for 2023.

This season, Osimhen has only scored seven times in 13 appearances in Serie A and Napoli are currently in a lowly ninth position on the table.

Chelsea now want to throw Osimhen a lifeline and, according to TEAMtalk, are prepared to put as much as 140 million Euros on the table, which is about the money on the release clause on the new contract the player signed recently with Napoli.

Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino hopes to add the missing puzzle piece to his core with Osimhen. The Nigerian must provide attacking firepower and, above all, goals.

With just 34 goals scored in the PL, Chelsea are one of the worst scoring in the Premier League.

Osimhen new contract with Napoli runs until mid-2026 with Napoli, who snapped him from French Ligue 1 club Lille in 2020 for a record 75 Million Euros.
