Fulham recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, with Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze making a lively return from injury.

The AC Milan loanee was introduced in the 77th minute to replace Harry Wilson, marking his first appearance after several weeks on the sidelines.

The hosts got off to a flying start as Ryan Sessegnon fired home in the ninth minute to give Fulham the lead. Wolves’ hopes of a comeback were dealt a major blow when Emmanuel Agbadou was shown a straight red card midway through the first half for a reckless challenge.

Taking advantage of their numerical superiority, Fulham doubled the lead in the 62nd minute through Harry Wilson, before Yerson Mosquera inadvertently turned the ball into his own net fifteen minutes from time to complete the rout.

Chukwueze looked sharp and confident during his cameo, adding pace and flair to Fulham’s right flank. He came close to scoring twice late on — first in the 86th minute when his effort struck the post after a clever exchange with Alex Iwobi, and moments later, when he dribbled past three defenders before forcing a fine fingertip save from the Wolves goalkeeper.

Former Super Eagles forward and 1994 AFCON winner Efan Ekoku, who was on commentary duty for the Premier League world feed, praised Chukwueze’s performance despite his near misses.

“He can’t quite believe it, Chukwueze,” Ekoku said after the winger hit the post. “Mosquera tries to shield it out, Iwobi steals it — just look at him, off balance as he’s turning. It’s not easy to wrap your foot around that and keep it under the crossbar. Great chance for number four missed.”

Moments later, after another dazzling display of footwork, Ekoku added:

“What about that for silky feet from Samuel Chukwueze? This one was heading for the corner.”

Having come through the match without any fitness concerns, Chukwueze is now expected to earn a recall to the Super Eagles squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon.

The 25-year-old’s return adds much-needed attacking depth for both Fulham and Nigeria, as he looks to regain his sharpness and rhythm ahead of a crucial international window.
