Mamador has emphasised its commitment to support Nigerian women empowerment initiatives as it empowers six female entrepreneurs with financial grants worth a million naira to support their goals at the third edition of the August women’s meeting held in Lagos.

The hybrid event which began with a masterclass by business marketing expert, Tricia Olufemi-Olumide, educated women on leveraging online platforms to improve businesses. The gathering which had a live audience and was also live streamed online via the brand’s social media platforms, had in attendance, women from various walks of life and ethnic backgrounds.

Explaining the motive behind the initiative, the Head of Marketing, PZ Wilmar, Chioma Mbanugo, said “Our goal with the Mamador August Women Meeting is to create a platform that will enable women from different professions and diverse backgrounds, to discuss, share experiences, encourage, support and push each other to overcome barriers and limitations, discover our potential, see the endless and limitless possibilities of life and inspire one another to achieve fulfillment in their chosen endeavours.”

The meeting also featured a panel comprising distinguished women like the moderator Titi Oyinsan, Nigerian Television host and media personality; Tricia Olufemi-Olumide, Author and Founder of Business Lab Academy; Oluwakemi Longe, Fitness Coach and Founder of KayFits Club; Ify Monye Mogekwu, Food blogger and Founder of Ify’s Kitchen, and Chioma Mbanugo, Head of Marketing, PZ Wilmar, as they discussed the theme “Explore your Flavour”, and explored the immense potential of the Nigerian woman.

According to Abidemi Ajayi, the category and brand manager for Mamador, “the brand is set to help every Nigerian woman explore her flavour, their passion, dreams whether hidden or forgotten, all the skills have, Mamador is here to encourage women to go all out, and live their dreams, it is also poised to help women celebrate their achievement and help them live life to the fullest without any stereotypes.”

“As women, there are certain things, certain limitations that culture and society have placed on us, though those things exist, we want women to know they can still work around them and be the best they want to be.”

The highlight of the third edition of the Mamador August Women Meeting themed “Explore your flavour: Harnessing the potentials of the Nigerian Woman” was the presentation of cheques to winners of the Mamador challenge. Some of the winners who received the grant are Aniebi Omotoyosi Adetilewa, Rukayat Ogunbiyi, and Glory Ige, they all won 250,000 each.

Appreciating the brand, one of the winners of the N250,000 grant, Aniebi Omotoyosi Adetilewa, a public health practitioner, who also runs a Ngo focused on children’s education in Ibadan said this win will go a long way in helping us achieve our children’s project coming up in October.

Recounting how she pitched for the grant, Adetilewa said a friend of mine told me to put in for this, I have participated in a lot of competitions before now but this is the first one I am winning. I was in the hospital when she told me to put in for the competition. I shot the video I used for my entry, the very day I was discharged, my voice was shaky. Later I check the Mamador page, and I saw my name among the winners, I am so excited.”

The August women’s meeting initiative since its inception is geared toward women empowerment, rural community development, conflict management, peace-building, and human development as it concerns women in Nigeria.
