ld Nigerian man has denied allegations of rape and sexual assault brought against him by a 19-year-old woman in the United Kingdom.

The defendant, Gift Oladele, who is said to have no fixed address but is described as operating a cleaning business in Manchester, is facing two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

During proceedings at Mold Crown Court, prosecutor James Coutts told the jury that the teenager alleged Oladele dragged her from a main road into a wooded area after a night out in Wrexham and sexually assaulted her.

According to the prosecution, the woman said she was terrified throughout the incident and claimed the defendant covered her mouth with his hand before forcing her down a path where the alleged attack took place.

She told the court she felt frozen and unable to move because she feared what was about to happen. The jury also heard claims that she was struck several times and that her jeans were torn off during the incident.

The prosecution further stated that after returning home, the young woman woke her parents, after which the police were contacted.

However, Oladele, while testifying on Friday, March 13, denied the allegations, insisting that he did not rape the complainant and describing the claims as false.

He admitted walking with the woman in the early hours as she made her way home last September, but maintained that her version of events was untrue.

The defendant also acknowledged leaving her in an alley after what he described as consensual sexual activity, admitting that his conduct was not gentlemanly.

The trial is still ongoing.
