Seven prominent footballers, including Dani Carvajal, Santi Cazorla, Giovani Lo Celso, Thomas Partey, César Azpilicueta, Juan Bernat, and David Silva, have reportedly been named in an investigation involving the alleged smuggling of luxury watches in Andorra.

According to Spanish outlet elDiario.es, the players are believed to have purchased high-end timepieces that were allegedly brought into circulation through irregular means.

The case is being handled by Andorran judge Joan Carles Moynat, who has requested cooperation from Spanish authorities to question the players about how the watches were purchased, delivered, and transported.

Spain’s Civil Guard has reportedly reached out to some of the individuals involved as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The investigation centres on a suspect identified as Diego GC, who has been in provisional detention in Andorra since October. He is accused of smuggling and money laundering—offences that could result in up to eight years in prison if proven.

Authorities allege that the suspect avoided customs duties by routing the sale of luxury watches through an Andorran company linked to him, rather than selling them directly in Spain. This arrangement is believed to have been designed to bypass VAT payments and generate financial gains through tax advantages.

The watches, primarily from high-end brands such as Rolex and Patek Philippe, were reportedly sold to the players via the Andorran firm instead of directly from the manufacturers.

The judge is also seeking to question several Spanish individuals and companies allegedly involved in supplying the watches to the Andorran entity before they were resold.

Reports further claim that when some of the watches were transported from Andorra to Spain, required customs declarations were not completed.

Additionally, the suspect and an associate were reportedly apprehended by customs officials in September 2025 while wearing luxury watches valued at over €100,000, which were also allegedly undeclared.

In total, Diego GC is accused of importing 38 watches worth approximately €1.35 million without properly declaring them to authorities.
