In the final, Swiatek took just 69 minutes to beat the world No 4 Pegula and improve her head-to-head career record against the American to 5-2.

She then followed it up with a fourth-round appearance at the Australian Open before reaching the quarter-finals of the US Open.

Swiatek’s current form is impressive, and she is widely considered to be one of the favourites to win the upcoming Grand Slam tournaments.
