ola Tinubu has said his administration does not inherit problems to abandon them, but to address and resolve them.

He made the statement on Thursday during the commissioning of the newly constructed Airport Expressway to Kuje Road, an event marking his third year in office. The President was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Tinubu described the project as a fulfilment of his administration’s promise to complete ongoing infrastructure projects across the country.

“Today we are not just commissioning a road but we are keeping a promise. Three years ago we took an oath to serve you, we pledged to end the era of abandoned projects and today FCT Highway 105 has stood as proof that we keep our words,” he said.

He added that his government is committed to completing inherited projects rather than abandoning them.

“Let me be very clear that the present administration does not inherit problems to abandon them. We inherit challenges to solve them,” Tinubu stated.

The President noted that the road project, awarded in 2022, had recorded minimal progress before his administration revived it.

“To appreciate the significance of this moment, we must recall why we started. This road was awarded in 2022 and little progress was made. It became a symbol of frustration — gridlock for businesses, dust in the dry season, and mud in the rainy season,” he said.

Tinubu also praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, describing him as a key driver in the delivery of ongoing infrastructure projects in Abuja.

“When I appointed Wike as the FCT Minister, I did so because he delivers. While there were delays, he brought political will. While there were obstructions, we paid compensations, respected the law, and valued progress,” he added.
