Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran amid growing uncertainty surrounding ongoing peace negotiations.

In a post shared on Truth Social on Sunday, the US president warned that time was running out for the Iranian government to reach an agreement.

“For Iran, the clock is ticking, and they better get moving fast, or there won’t be anything left of them. Time is of the essence!” Trump wrote.

The warning came shortly before Trump held discussions with Benjamin Netanyahu regarding recent developments in the Middle East.

According to Axios, both leaders discussed the situation involving Iran, while reports also indicated that Trump’s national security team is expected to meet on Tuesday to review the ongoing crisis.

Iranian media outlets reportedly claimed that the Trump administration had failed to offer meaningful concessions in response to Tehran’s latest proposals, fueling concerns that negotiations could eventually collapse.

Trump had earlier described the fragile ceasefire as being on “massive life support” and rejected Iran’s counteroffer, calling it “totally unacceptable.”

Meanwhile, the US administration is reportedly facing mounting pressure to end the conflict as the country approaches the midterm elections, with fuel prices rising sharply across the United States. Reports indicate that gas prices have increased by more than 50 percent, reaching a national average of $4.51 per gallon.

During a recent appearance before lawmakers on Capitol Hill, Pete Hegseth avoided giving a direct response when questioned about the financial impact of the conflict.

Hegseth appeared before the House Appropriations Committee alongside Pentagon comptroller Jay Hurst to discuss the Defense Department’s budget.

During the hearing, California Democrat Pete Aguilar pressed officials for more details regarding the war’s expenses.

Hurst told lawmakers that the estimated cost of the conflict had climbed to $29 billion, up from the earlier $25 billion estimate presented at the end of April.

According to him, the increase was due to higher operational expenses as well as the repair and replacement of military equipment.
